Lantern in the Darkness II" is inspired by a recurring pattern woven throughout the fabric of the natural world. My deep love for biology, ecology, and gardening has led me to recognize this motif across disciplines—geology, ornithology, botany, limnology, even phlebotomy. It emerges again and again, a quiet yet undeniable signature of nature’s intricate design. So prevalent and profound, I see it as one of evolution’s most exquisite masterpieces—a testament to the beauty and intelligence embedded in life itself.
It is 36” x 36” x 4”. It is painted largely with Texas soil and pigments. It is sealed with cold wax medium to provide for longevity and easy cleaning. The wood framing it is mounted on is reclaimed and has been refinished with danish oil. As a pieced of reclaimed wood this means it does have nuance and is storied and unique in ways a piece of new w could never be). It comes to you ready to hang.
