As human beings, thinking is our super power. However, it is also our biggest challenge. Some studies show humans think around 60,000 thoughts a day and most of them are repetitive.  For many, this mind chatter can be torturous, including anxiety, self-criticism, or comparison to others.  

However, art, like mindfulness, shifts our brain away from our typical mind chatter, and into a state of presence. In fact, research shows that having a creativity practice produces better mental and physical health outcomes. Art invites us to practice self-compassion and reject self-acceptance. We have the opportunity to tune into our unique gifts and voice and express the contents of our hearts and minds in a safe space.

I invite you to join me for Creative Night Out. We begin each class with a new exercise for calming and quieting our minds, and grounding in our bodies.  I offer up demonstrations of new art techniques and tools  each class, as we begin to express ourselves through the creation of Mandalas. Students have reported that this class is their weekly de-stressor, and that it feels like “a creative yoga class.”  Friendships and inspiration blossom in our small class, and we stay connected via our Facebook group throughout the week, sharing inspiration, mindfulness and our art work.  Pictured Below : Student Work

Creative Night Out is unique because we work in small groups to maintain a sense of intimacy and connection. You will get a chance to chat and share your work at my studio. You will also have the opportunity for direct feedback from myself and others during each session.  The Creative Night Out provides a unique and intimate creative experience. 

When you leave class each week, you will feel better prepared to face the challenges and demands of your life. You will feel refreshed, inspired, and connected. Your ability to practice self-compassion, quiet, and acceptance will be strengthened through our time together.
