“The soil is the great connector of lives, the source and destination of all. It is the healer and restorer and resurrector, by which disease passes into health, age into youth, death into life. Without proper care for it we can have no community, because without proper care for it we can have no life.”

This series is a record of the paints created using local soils. I came upon this idea of honoring soil health when listening to Terry Tempest William’s book “Erosion: Essays on Undoing.” This grey came from the Balcones Escarpment portion of Walnut Creek. It is painted on 1/8” think clayboard, and is ready to be framed. It is 18” x 24” and it is sealed with wax.
